I adore party supplies.
They're bright and fun and whimsical and best of all...they're inexpensive.
I used party decor here and there in our old house but now that we've recently moved and don't have much of a budget for anything new right now, it's my perfect little go-to decor idea.
And it's all over the place.
I first bought tissue paper pouffs years ago for a baby shower I hosted for a sweet friend.
Since then though, I've completely fallen in love with them. They're super easy to make (here are some tutorials) but you can find them at most any craft store: Etsy, Hobby Lobby, Joann's, etc.
(oh and that wreath? its made from coffee filters. diy here!)
I bought this cute little disco ball at Walmart for a handful of dollars back when I held our Let's Party Like Girls night. I love still having it out. I kinda want more.
Admittedly, I have a lot of pinkish hues out at the moment. But hey...it's spring and peach and watermelon and blush are such happy colors. Thankfully my boys don't mind at all.
Don't look at the daffodils too closely. Ok ok...do. I totally burnt a few of those sweet little guys the other night when I had my yummy Voluspa candle burning.
I meant to turn the glass around before taking the photo. Oh well. You want to see real-life, right?!
Our study room is currently my favorite room in the house. I'll do a tour of it another day when it's actually clean so I can take some cute photos (there are little pieces of cut up paper all over the floor that I'm leaving to be picked up by the culprit artist who is at school right now).
The tassels and such around the map though, just make me grin.
My office upstairs is ummm shall we say quite girlie?
It's where I sit and need to be inspired so it's 100% me.
I'm still playing around with it and may not keep these flowers up forever because I have some projects on Illustrator I'm wanting to work on and perhaps print up for on the wall, but for now this is what it looks like.
I absolutely love wrapping paper because once again, the rolls are so full of color and whimsy and are only a few dollars. My favorite places to find them are Paper Source, Target, and HomeGoods.
I use them on our dining table as a quick + easy runner, updating a boring bookshelf, or on the countertop under platters or our makeshift bar area during a party. Right now I'm using that yellow and white polka dot on our coffee table, in hopes to brighten it up a bit for spring.
I love wrapping paper for so many things other than for gifts.
(here are more photos from my office in our old house)
Soooo maybe I used this pompom garland to cover up a light-switch that has no cover. I do love the texture and color it's added to that wall...but honestly, a cover-up job is truly why it's there.
Maybe I could hang one from the ceiling to cover up that old light + lightbulbs dangling from the hallway...? As you can see, we're definitely mid-project around here. There's lots of updating to do! So fun.
Imani + Elsabet's room is another favorite. It's just so happy and bright.
That gold striped print actually says, "Cheers" so I just stuck more of those paper flowers to it since Cheers didn't really make sense in a little girls room...am I right?
Those little poufs or pompoms on the ribbon is a Martha Stewart diy package from Michael's.
If you don't think of yourself as a diy'er...that might be right up your alley. It's all cut and prepared, all you have to do is fluff!
Hanging large pompoms and chinese lanterns from the ceiling with brightly colored ribbon is the perfect way to add a little extra pop to the often neglected "fifth wall".
As you continue to follow along (especially on Instagram), you'll see things change and get moved around and perhaps notice more party decor added into our house as we continue to get settled.
If you're wanting a little texture or bright pops of color, for a small price...party decor is where it's at.
What's your favorite?? What would you add into your home?
